Internet Explorer 5.5 (Released: July 2000)
Browsing any webpage with exceptionally fast performance, and some web forms.
What does not
Right now, I'm submitting this test result using Internet Explorer 5.5, but the cool miniature word processor tool that comes up normally didn't show, so this is just barebones text. PNG graphics and some text boxes will not show.
What was not tested
Browsing with plugins (flash, java, etc.) installed, or attempting to add a toolbar.
It runs fast, and I have a feeling some of the things that don't work are limitations inherit in IE 5.5. I also installed it manually using the same method to install IE6.

This note was originally added to IE Version 5, but may be relevant to all versions.
Don't run IE on an RW mounted DOS partition !
Pretty problematic directory renaming/corruption can happen.
This seems to happen if Wine doesn't have access to certain Windows registry keys.
Renames e.g. "Program Files" to "$!$!$!$!.pfr" and does other horrible things.
BTW, it does not only happen with IE, as it seems to be a generic Windows Setup process of Explorer which is doing this, which can be launched under multiple circumstances.
To be safe, use a backup copy only, i.e. copy all relevant windows files over e.g. to an ext2 partition.
