Additional Comments
The following command will allow the game to run without crashing at launch. ``` winetricks dotnet45 ``` It seems like the game i not compatible with the default Mono libraries that come with Wine. There have been reports of performance issues with the game when XAudio is active, but the only place I noticed performance problems was in the menu screens outside the game (with all the snow). The game itself worked without performance issues, even with sound enabled. Granted, I have a pretty beastly system, so that might have something to do with it.

CD to your My Documents/My Games/UnrealEngine3/BoulderGame/Config folder. Open BoulderEngine.ini in your favorite text editor and remove following lines:
[XAudio2.XAudio2Device] MaxChannels=32 CommonAudioPoolSize=0 MinCompressedDurationGame=5 MinCompressedDurationEditor=4 LowPassFilterResonance=0.9This disables XAudio engine all together, sound won't work obiviously, but it does not work anyways even with it. After this the game should run full speed, assuming you have beefy enough setup. I've tried to make it use OpenAL driver to get sound without success. If anyone finds a way, please share it with us.
