I recommend testing with the demo and seeing if the game works past the 1st dungeon for you before buying. This was with wine 1.3.15 from the Ubuntu repos. My Open Suse install doesn't work, but that may be due to newer wine code, installing directx, new nvidia drivers or various things done to make Eve work.
