What does not
programming ATMEL chips.
I am using a rather old STK500, serial comm.. When I first connected it, AVR Studio reported an outdated firmware version of the STK, and prompted me through a firmware update, which went well (Uff!). Communication with the board thus apparently works well. I can connect and disconnect to the board. Any attempt to read data from the board (i.e. reading the chip's signature, or downloading the target's existing program) results in an error msg box:
" could not contact the programmer....."
and the addition of the several error lines to the log.
A JTAGICE programmer (NOT an original!) did not communicate, but this may be a hardware issue
Hints behind most toolbar buttons are unreadable (Font too large / box too small)
What was not tested
Not every function in depth.
the "non working" function has a workaround (using AVRdude) to program chips. Anyway, it would be great to see this fixed.
