What does not
Antialiasing provides us with a white screen where the game world should have been. SMAA simply does not work, which appears to be the case in other DirectX11 titles too.
Turn antialiasing off.
What was not tested
PvP, group play.
This was tested an AUR package for Arch Linux that includes both wine-staging 3.3, wine-pba patches for better D3D performance as well as a patch to allow the usage of DirectX11 in Path of Exile:
Should be noted that I installed it in a fresh 64bit wineprefix, set to windows 10, with EAX- and vaapi video decoding enabled.
I adjusted the following settings in the ~/'Documents/My Games/production_Config.ini':
[Display] directx_version=11 dx11_antialias_mode=0 use_dynamic_resolution=false vsync=false [GENERAL] engine_multithreading_mode=disabled [UI] show_corner_map=false
Furthermore I'm running the game with the following launch options:
wine ./'PathOfExile_x64.exe' --garbage-generation 1 --waitforpreload
With these settings I was getting fluent gameplay with hardly any stuttering, and no crashes.
