What works

It installs and I am able to load a data file and browse through my accounts. I haven't been brave enough to try and modify any data or save. Screen bargraphs are somewhat slow but appear to look okay. I've seen some truncated text in buttons but nothing major.

What does not

Nothing that I am aware of yet but I haven't tried much! Once it did crash trying to plot a bar graph.

What was not tested

Mostly everything!

Additional Comments

I gave it bronze rating since I haven't tested much yet. One caveat, though is you MUST install IE6 (comes on the Quicken 2005 deluxe CD) before you run the main install.exe in the root folder of the CD.

HowTo / Notes

HOWTO
Okay... here is how I seem to be able to install it repeatably.
  1. Create a fresh wine prefix with "wineprefixcreate". I'm using the default EVERYTHING created by this.
  2. Fake an install of IE6 using winetricks utility (see http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks) Thanks to Tony for giving me this tip!
  3. Run "wine /cdrom/install.exe" in the root of the CD. This first time you install, the Quicken licenses agreement won't display.
  4. Run Quicken "wine C:\Program Files\Quicken\qw"
  5. For, me Quicken complained that the Quicken program files may have been damaged and that I would need to reinstall Quicken - Don't worry, this is okay.
  6. Remove the files in the Quicken install directory "rm -fr $WINEPREFIX/drive_c/Program\ Files/Quicken"
  7. Reinstall Quicken "wine /cdrom/install.exe"and this time I saw the license agreement. When this completes you should be ready to run Quicken!
