What works
Installing on Windows, applying Groza's No CD patch and playing a skirmish without units blowing up in 30 seconds.
Game is a lot slower (without any speedfix) than on Windows, but is playable (I haven't tried the speedfix which must make it comfortable to play).
What does not
Installing, even with ra2inst script (Woldata.key and Conquer.dat are two required files the installer creates).
Workarounds
What was not tested
Network play, campaign
Hardware tested

-- UPDATE -- Speed FixREGEDIT4
If the game does not run correctly after these changes, remove them.
Add the following lines to ra2.ini: [Video] VideoBackBuffer=no If the game does not run correctly after these changes, remove them. Network PlayIPX is tricky, and is fortunately no longer needed. Someone has written a patch to use TCP/IP instead.

you may want to look at Bug33211 (see above),
in particular Post 11 (by meindertjan 2014-09-16).
Worked for me.
Wine doesn't shut down properly when exiting the game but whatever.
