What works

Music playback of mp3, FLAC, and .ogg files works perfectly.

Skinning capabilities work fine. 

No problems importing music.

What does not

Windows Audio components will fail to install.

In Gnome 3 and KDE Plasma, part of the application window gets cut off when using the minimize button in the application. Title bar must be double-clicked to restore these sections. This problem does not occur when using the Gnome 3 hot corner to minimize the application.

Re-arranging panes is very sluggish. Album lists take a moment to load and scrolling through albums/artists is also very sluggish.

Volume slider does not work. 

Plugins, such as the CD Baby and Audible browsers, sometimes load but may crash the program. Music playback does not always stop when the program crashes, even if it is "x-kill"ed.

Workarounds

What was not tested

Video playback, CD encoding, syncing with MTP devices.

Amazon mp3 store browser loads but was not tested due to the problems I had with the other built-in browsers.

Additional Comments

This is my favorite music player in Windows 7, but the stability issues with the plugins and the very sluggish scrolling in the interface make it not worth using. The responsiveness of the interface could possibly be improved with some tinkering with Wine configurations. The casual Linux user (such as myself), who like programs to work "out-of-the-box" with minimal configuration, should skip this one. Give Songbird a try.
