Additional Comments

Giving it a bronze because I didn't test anything beyond installing and starting a game. Needs winetricks directmusic installed, or it will crash on start. Also be sure to cd to the program directory or run the exe with "wine start /unix", or it will crash on start. Unresponsive mouse (bug 13351): this is apparently a known issue in Windows, too, so it may well not be a Wine bug. The workaround in Linux is to use xinput to change your mouse acceleration profile to 6 (see howto below, or the bug report).

HowTo / Notes

HOWTO

(Updated 2015-04-20)

Needs winetricks directmusic, or it will crash on start.

When running from a terminal, cd to the program directory to run it (or use wine start /unix) or it will crash on start.

Mouse is unresponsive (bug 13351)

This may not be a Wine bug, as the problem has been reported by Windows users, too. The workaround in Linux is to use xinput to change your acceleration profile. In a terminal, run

      xinput

and take note of the ID of your mouse. Then run

     xinput set-prop mouse-ID 'Device Accel Profile' 6

If your mouse still moves too slowly, run:

xinput set-prop mouse-ID 'Device Accel Velocity Scaling' 100

Since this affects mouse acceleration on your whole system, not just the game, you will probably want to change it back after exiting the game:

     xinput set-prop mouse-ID 'Device Accel Profile' 0
