Trying to launch the 5.5 mod had pretty much the same result, except it closed instead of throwing those errors in repeat.

It becomes choppy and extremely slow sometimes as soon as a mission starts, but it happens quickly in all the cases.
The solution is to use wine-pba, there :
github.com/acomminos/wine-pba
In gentoo this can be easily used by creating the directory /etc/portage/patches/app-emulation/wine-staging-3.13
and symlink the patches there, they will be applied when you install wine-staging-3.13, and it works wonderfully well !
Finally the game is playable !
