Additional Comments

The garbage rating is because the game will not start in plain Wine. However, the patch in bug 18799 fixes that, and the game seems playable. Note that different installers are available for this game from www.entropiauniverse.com and www.planetcalypso.com. The one I tested this time was from the latter site, and I did not need any winetricks to get it to work. My previous test used the installer from www.entropiauniverse.com.

1. You must patch Wine with the crysis_memory_wine-1.1.42.patch attached to bug 18799, or Entropia Universe will not start. The patch has been tested with and does apply cleanly to wine-1.4-rc3.
2. The installer for this game is available from both www.entropiauniverse.com  and www.planetcalypso.com­. The ­ filenames are different, and while they are mostly the same, there are some differences in their behavior.
   
3. Entropia's installer will prompt you to update vcrun2005; let it, as your only other choice is to cancel the install.
   
4. If the installer fails after updating vcrun2005, try installing it with winetricks.
