What works

The installer works. The executable works after installing MFC libraries (winetricks mfc42).

The program is able to connect to a network-connected DVR; at a first glance, all the basic actions work as expected (rec, pause, play, show event list).

What does not

The program should show a screencast of the DVR video output, but it shows a still image when connected and doesn't refresh. Sometimes it refreshes when maximizing/restoring, but that trick doesn't work in playback mode.⁞

The console shows repeatedly this message:

fixme:d3d_surface:surface_convert_format Cannot find a conversion function from format WINED3DFMT_YV12 to WINED3DFMT_B8G8R8X8_UNORM.

repeated 5-6 times, followed by

fixme:d3d_surface:surface_cpu_blt Filter WINED3D_TEXF_LINEAR not supported in software blit.

 There are minor conflicts with the window manager (mine is KDE on Kubuntu 13.04): sometimes the window doesn't maximize, sometimes it goes into "window mode by mouse" mode.

Workarounds

What was not tested

Movie export: when clicking on the lower-left Rec button, the program refuses to continue claiming the lack of a DivX codec installed. The console says:
