New version, but I find no differences. (C) 2012 Dassault System. New version for free 2D and 3D CAD Software. You may draw 3D Mesh, Revolved, Tabulated, Edge, Ruled 3D Objects, Render. Now Dassault Systems releases new beta version for Linux x86. I try but can not install it on Ubuntu x64. Only for x86... The license for betas is NOT FOR DEVELOPMENT USE. I hope that after final release of Linux x86 & 64 version we will have no need to use it in Wine

What works

Installs. Usually opens only if a computer is connected to a network without I-Net until evaluation period expires. But using workaround of the Bug 30742 (see Extra comments) in works normally. It opens, saves a file, draws and modifies primitives, exports to PDF or multiple graphics formats.

What does not

WARNING! DANGER FOR YOUR EYES!!!  When a mouse pointer moves outside the drawing area through left or right border in any direction or  upper border in the direction from right bottom to left top this drawing area stays gray. When the mouse pointer moves back into the drawing area the drawing reappears. This blinking may cause injury of eyes.

Printing causes "Call not released" message. Using clipboard causes a crash.

If workaround (see Extra comments) does not used it asks for personal data any time it starts.

Additional Comments

Possible blinking is a problem with my video system or Direct3D/OpenGL in new Wine. On differrent video systems and distributions this blinking may appear or not. The workaround to register is: 1. Connect an external storage or resize (without deleting information) a partition on HDD to install Ubuntu 11.04 (approx 8 GB); 2. Install UBUNTU, Wine, DraftSight and register it; 3. Rename Wineprefix of Ubuntu 11.04 (usually .wine in home (~) folder) and copy it to Ubuntu 12.04 Home folder 4. Save backup copy of Wineprefix. Delete a partition with Ubuntu 11.04 and restore partitioning on HDD if nessesary. 5. Run it by following command. It maybe added to start menu and associated with dwg/dxf files manually: env WINEPREFIX= wine For example: env WINEPREFIX="/home/user/.winex86" wine "c:\\Program Files\\Dassault Systemes\\DraftSight\\bin\\draftsight.exe"
