Additional Comments

The game only runs in windowed mode. Even in this case, it starts minimized so you only get sound and a black screen. To make the game visible execute "wine taskmgr" in a parallel process (or take the main wine process to the background if you happen to use the same shell). You should find the minimized game task below so just click on it to maximize it.

Loud Ambient Sound
by Naceira on Tuesday April 19th 2011, 14:26
I had this problem too in Ubuntu Maverick Meerkat, the loud ambient sound was annoying. Now it's solved after installing dsound with winetricks and using audio driver EsounD.

Works very well
by grahame on Sunday February 18th 2007, 6:52
I've been playing the game for a little while now and aside from a few niggles it works really well.

a few things that I've noticed:
1) When ever the game does a screen transition the whole screen goes black for a second, even when running the game in a "windows desktop" and even if switched over to a different virtual destop at the time.
2) If I quit the game using the in game menus my whole desktop goes black and stays black until I restart X. To get around this I have to manually kill the wine session to end the game. Of all the problems this is the most annoying.

All is not bad though, from what I've encountered so far the game runs very smoothly indeed.

Wine 0.9.1
by crypto178 on Saturday November 12th 2005, 8:22
The mousehack trick doesn't seem to work (anymore?), the mouse is stuck in the middle of the screen. Has the location of the registry key changed? Any help would be appreciated.
RE: Wine 0.9.1
by joao on Friday November 18th 2005, 3:32
I tried it again, and it works.
So, when you download the Oliver stieber's mouse_hack patch, place it in your cvs wine/dll/dinput dir.
In a console:
patch -i mouse_hack.diff
return to wine dir and recompile
With regedit
create the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Wine/dinput mousehack = "disabled"
And it works.
With the latest cvs I have any graphical glitches.
Yaouhh!!!!!!

by joao on Monday August 1st 2005, 14:05
with wine20050725, game installs fine. There is problem with mouse yet. But it can be resolved with the Oliver Stieber's patch mousekack
Moreover, there is a few glitches with graphic but the game is very playable.
