HowTo / Notes

HOWTO

It is recommend to use Wine 1.8

1. To enable movie playing, you need to install additional libraries:

   $ winetricks amstream quartz dsound

2. Pressing the ESC button during play to get the menu the game is not shown full screen anymore. To fix that I changed a few settings in the Wine configuration (tab Graphics)
- Enabled:
    Automatically capture the mouse in full-screen windows
    Allow the window manager to decorate the windows
- Disabled:
    Allow the window manager to control the windows

Emulate a virtual desktop (is default)

Movies playback

This needs some native DLLs, install them with the command "winetricks amstream quartz dsound"

Erratum: sadly dsound introduces sound issues so this is not a valid solution for movies.
Multiplayer needs DirectPlay

Multiplayer requires native DirectPlay, install it with "winetricks directplay"
