If you have problems starting the game after installation you should start the game via command line and have a look at the output. If there is an xcb lib error "assertion !xcb_xlib_extra_reply_data_left could not be fulfilled" then you can try to fix it with the comment from zed on this bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer-updates/+bug/877445. You have to create some symbolic links. Furthermore I had to change my game settings to see a picture on screen (not sure whats really important): - Uncheck "Run in a window instead of full-screen" - Graphic driver: DirectDraw 5 - Graphic filter: 4x nearest-neighbour filter - Uncheck "Use 85 HZ display" - Uncheck "Side borders on widescreen monitors" - Check "Smooth scaled sprites" - Check "Force alternate letterbox resolution" I also had problems with keyboard and mouse input. Mouse acceleration/speed was very high and annoying. Keyboard strokes where sent to the wrong application so the keyboard was not working at all for Gemini Rue. To solve the keyboard problem you have to switch to the Gemini Rue Program with ALT + Tab. To speed down the mouse you can try to decrease the mouse OS settings "accerleration" and "treshold" (the value which determines when the acceleration will begin). For a correct image on screen, i also had to disable the compositor in the OS settings. The compositor is responsible for transparent windows.
