Adobe Audition

What works

• Installer.
• File opening and saving.
• Waveform display.
• Dropdown and context menus.
• UI panels.
• Pop-up panels.
• Editing and effects.
• Pretty much everything.

What does not

• The interface panels are scrambled if you use Adobe's graphics manager (framebuffer with Rasterlines too long or short by 1 to 3 pixels), making all UI elements appear diagonally slanted. Some elements (buttons, checkboxes) render correctly once hovered over.

  
  

  • Can also occasionally lock up on load due to this issue, which may cause Audition to warn you that a previous session was not closed properly once restarted; this can be ignored (click "Delete") and should not happen anymore once the workaround shown below is used.
• May need to override library "msvcp100" to native in Wine configuration, otherwise will silently fail to launch with debug output: "Call from 0x7b44763c to unimplemented function msvcp100.dll._Wcsxfrm, aborting"

Workarounds

• Scrambled interface panels can be fixed by disabling the option in Preferences > Appearance > Use Adobe Graphics Manager for user interface. Audition may complain with some unreadable dialog boxes, just click through them. Then reopen the app.

What was not tested

• Recording (should work in theory, correctly detected pulseaudio).
