I had a problem adding album art to MP3 created with Sound Juicer. I am now using Album Cover Art Downloader and with the MP3 files created with my old standby - Audiograbber - it works perfectly. Obviously there is some difference between how the encoders write the tags to the MP3 files.
Creating VBR MP3 files actually works correctly as well. It is very simple to change the encoder settings using Audiograbber.
What does not
The splash screen is not quite right.
Right clicking on a track name should display a pop-up menu. Instead of
the menu the Track properties dialog is displayed. If you hold down the
right button, the menu remains displayed and you can select item on it.
Track names do not display correctly unless you click on the track name or scroll over it (select a track and then use the up/down keys). Opening and closing dialog or selecting an item from the popup menu that appears when you right click a track name will cause the entire track list to be updated.
What was not tested
Analog CD-ROM access.
Audiograbber comes with an installer but it is not required if you can copy the files from an existing Windows install. In other words if you have it configured and running on a Windows machine, just copy the directory that contains audiograbber.exe to your Wine enabled OS. All your settings are still intact when running under Wine.
