From what I can tell, all of the single player gameplay works as intended.
What does not
When loading a mission, only a square in the top-left corner of the game is visible; the rest of the screen shows my desktop. See workarounds to fix this.
When loading a mission, only a square in the top-left corner of the game is visible; the rest of the screen shows my desktop. To fix this, I press the super key (usually the Windows key) to view all open applications, then press it again to return to the game. After doing this, the game window properly shows the entire game in fullscreen.
What was not tested
Running the game in a window was not tested.
Multiplayer features were not tested, but online multiplayer will not work because GameSpy is no longer operational.
Load times are noticeable longer in Wine compared to Windows 7. The progress bar hangs at 100% for a little bit before launching the level.

This game is officially supported by the Steam Proton compatibility tool. For this reason, I am no longer actively maintaining this app with new Wine versions.
To enable Steam Proton, open your Steam settings. Select "Steam Play" from the left-hand side, and check the box for "Enable Steam Play for supported titles". You will then be able to install and play the game as if it were natively supported on Linux; Steam Proton will set everything up for you automatically at first launch.
