What works
In-game videos (but with an audio glitch), gameplay (no audio problems) – at least for the first three missions
What does not
In the video clips (but not outside them), it sounds like a looping audio buffer of about a second in length is updated slower than it plays, so it keeps repeating short bits of sound that were already played within the last second. Despite the glitch, speech is understandable.
Workarounds
What was not tested
Finishing the game (yet)

Additional Comments
The Steam release already contains some version of DDFix. I had to disable the winegstreamer DLL because the 32-bit Wine process would try to load 64-bit libgst*.so files and fail, resulting in the videos not playing. I had to install icodecs with winetricks to get the videos to work. Patching the game with TFix (to get improved textures and models, a widescreen aspect ratio etc.) resulted in a white screen with only the health bar being visible. Setting UseSysMemOverlay=2 in ddfix.ini fixed that problem. I don’t know if this is relevant, but I’m using the following winetricks settings: win7 ddr=opengl glsl=enabled orm=fbo psm=enabled rtlm=textex vsm=hardware strictdrawordering=disabled
