What works

- The game is perfectly playable, and rendering is 100% fine

What does not

- The GOG installation only works in safe mode. You need to run it with parameter: wine setup_dungeon_keeper2_2.0.0.32.exe  /nogui

- Cutscenes are way too fast
- Sound goes wrong on my PC

What was not tested

- I have not yet finished the game, so some issues might occur later.

- I have not tried multiplayer.

HowTo / Notes

Disable CSMT

When you find your game to be performing poorly (you will notice on the main menu), follow these steps to disable CSMT:

  1. run regedit e.g. by typing wine regedit
  2. travel to HKEY_CURRENT_USER ? Software ? Wine
  3. Right-click 'Wine' and select 'New' and 'Key' and name it 'Direct3D'
  4. Within 'Direct3D', create a new DWORD value, name it 'csmt'
  5. Set it to 0

More info about registry keys can be found here:

Game fails to start

If the game fails to start, try running 'DKII-DX.exe' instead.
