What works
The update window that updates and launches the game from a "play now" button.
What does not
The update window more often than not, get stuck as a solid green color, but is sometimes fixed by minimizing steam.
When the "play now" button is pressed, a message appears that says, "Sorry, this application cannot run under a Virtual Machine." With an okay button, that closes the window.

I think the message has to do with the extra DRM software it installs with the game.
