What works

Most things it seems; esp. digital camera handling + simple image manipulation/easy palette. Setup crashes in the end (after install) if not chosen the default settings, in this case you got to kill the remaining window manually.

What does not

The issues back from the early days continue: color balance crashes the program (mfc42), as well does writing text freeze the program (>Internet Explorer), in a way not even Gnome system monitor comes up if you launch it. So you kill wine/Iedit.exe manually via shell, however still the program refuses to start again saying that another user has PhotoImpact running, leaving restart as the only choice for unexperienced people who don't want to spend long on the search for the appropriate command kill. Overall performance as mentioned poor (often freezes for seconds on slow PCs, 100% CPU usage without operations running/Celeron 850). Winetricks (installed comctl32.ocx comdlg32.ocx dcom98 fontfix gdiplus ie8 mfc40 mfc42 msi2 riched20 riched30 richtx32 allfonts native_oleaut32, also with ie7) which I engaged on a new fresh install after Wine 1.2 + Upgrade to clean 1.34 doesn't help, either. Sorry I lack energy at the moment to submit appropriate bug reports, just post this for the users who get the impression this would be a sure thing. It isn't! If you count on the other applications in the typical bundled Ulead package as there are Gif Animizer 5, Cool360 and Photo Explorer 8.5 SE -> they worked, neither, except Album, and crashed on launch.

What was not tested

Most functions, I really got stuck at the very beginning, and I needed something which has a text tool so downgraded to version 5.
