- Installing the game and playing it. The executable itself works out of the box, but the new launcher doesn't. See below.
What does not
- The game has got an update in Steam - the latest version is officially bundled with a launcher and the High Resolution Mod. The launcher (FalloutLauncher.exe) crashes at startup. It starts after doing "winetricks dotnet45".
What was not tested
- Playing through the whole game
To run the game without "winetricks dotnet45", go to ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/common/Fallout/ and run f1_res_patcher.exe + f1_res_config.exe to set your resolution and enable the High Res Mod. Afterwards, run falloutw.exe for the original game or falloutwhr.exe for the High Res Game. Otherwise, it works out of the box.
