Additional Comments
If you are inclined to run DOSBox under Wine rather than natively, this is a great tool- it has many features to make getting an old game running much easier. Its ability to integrate with other emulators and engines is dimmed by the fact that if DFR is run under Wine, you need to run the other applications under Wine as well. If you have many games, space may become an issue. You can store the game data outside your Wine folder to relieve this. You can store the game data on a drive that is mountable in both Linux and another OS if you use the games in more than one OS. (I store mine on an OS-agnostic drive so both Windows and Linux can reach the games.) Note that sharing .conf files may not work, depending on the settings needed. DBGL is a similar application based on Java that is available in a native Linux version, and has similar core features to D-Fend Reloaded. It has a bit steeper learning curve, but it can be used natively in many operating systems.
