Additional Comments
Basically to play this game it is required the Windows Media Codec 9. These are the steps I've followed to let it work: 1) On a clean 32bit prefix install the codec for win xp: http://www.codecguide.com/windows_media_codecs.htm 2) Install steam through winetricks, as reported here: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=19444 . I needed to launch "nice -n 19 wine Steam.exe" to complete the update phase 3) Download and install WargameEE 4) When launched, it should automatically retrieve the missing libraries (vcrun2008, directx, etc.) In my case the command "winetricks glsl=disable" did greatly improve the performance when playing (see http://wiki.winehq.org/Performance). Some other small benefits came when decreasing the shade options from the video settings.
