Use the following to install SW2012 32bit Educational version with 'AdminDirectory.xml' file (circumventing the StartSWInstall.hta install): $ WINEARCH=win32 winetricks vcrun{2005,2008} ie8 mfc40 $ cd Solidworks/32bit $ wine ".\sldim\sldIM.exe" /adminclient /new /source ".\AdminDirector.xml" /norunsw Fails quite quickly, rerun again: $ wine ".\sldim\sldIM.exe" /adminclient /new /source ".\AdminDirector.xml" /norunsw Installs a lot more But vsta_aide.exe crashes rolling back everything, so kill installer processes (use 'ps ax' to find the process number of 'sldIM.exe') Start (unusable) SolidWorks: $ wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/SolidWorks\ Corp/SolidWorks/SLDWORKS.exe
