Installation works: First download and install the Windows Adobe Air framework. This installes fine in Wine. Then install Wine through Adobe Air. It should install fine.
What does not
With Wine 1.4: Adding songs to playlists by drag-and-drop makes the app freeze and requires a kill and restart. At least one in-app setting seems not to be stored: last.fm scrobbling enabling. The last.fm login credentials are stored, but on every app restart, the "enabled" checkbox comes up unchecked, and songs are not submitted to last.fm until the box is re-checked.
With Wine 1.5: The drag-and-drop bug no longer exists. The last.fm problem persists.
Minor thing: In KDE, adding WiMP as a persistent launcher in the taskbar will open a new instance every time it's clicked, and add a new icon for the running instance (unlike with native apps). In Unity it will re-open the running instance and keep only one icon (as with native apps).
