Additional Comments
General notes: Game works good except for issues mentioned above. ___________ Performance: Generally OK, though the lightning/stuttering issue is noticeable. __GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS=1, gives lower performance in all cases. Wine CS-0.8 fixes lightning/stuttering issues and improves performance up to 100%* in some cases. If you still get stuttering try cl_forcepreload 1 in game console. *Again, up to but on lowest avg it gives about 10-20% up to 100% depending on scenery. ____________ Tested with: Driver: nVidia 340.17 GPU : nVidia Zotac GTX 670AMP! Kernel: 3.14.8-1-ck

You can't start the game with certain Ati/AMD cards; At least some 6xxx series and 7870 is affected and reported against Fedora distribution (See https://bugs.winehq.org/show_b...).
It's known issue.
You need to change your vendor and device of your card (and set memory size too to avoid other crashes)
Here is a guide: http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulR...
Some users said to be using these values to get it work in Registry:
"I used the value of "0x10de" for the VendorID and "0x0402" for the DeviceID."
Disable steam overlay from steam settings.
See http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bu... for more details.
