What works
Installer works, requires vcrun2008 and corefonts
Running the game requires d3dx9_43 and d3dcompiler_43 and winecfg set to WinXP
Character creation, Settings, Game run as well with decent fps, about 20-40. Just a few moments ago we tried to take Zurvan Station and i got 30 fps.
Shop works as well.
What does not
MouseInput is kinda strange, it's like the mouse is actually lagging not the game, cause evry animation runs smoothly...without that strange behaviour the game would be good playable, so it's a major issue for aiming but managable.
Some minor graphical issues, but not that much

Additional Comments
Testing System: Ubuntu 12.10 64bit Geforce GTS 450 GLH Intel® Core™ i5 CPU 760 @ 2.80GHz × 4 running the game with task-optimizer script to use all 4 cores and setting the cpu-frequency to performance. As mentioned above, without the mouse behaviour it would actually be enjoyable. So it's hard to aim, managable but hard. Close Quarters will be your friend

I start with a new prefix you may adapt it to your situation.
$WINEPREFIX will always be your path for you Planetside2 wine folder. The first step will create that folder.
example with step 1:
WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.wine_planetside wineboot
Troubles:
When you use a wrong or faulty imm32.dll, every program (including winecfg) will crash, giving you many error messages. In such a case you can revert the override by editing "$WINEPREFIX/user.reg". Use a text editor, not a word processor. Search for imm32, find the line that says "imm32"="native" or similar. Delete this line. Save the file and test if you can run winecfg now.
64bit:
If you happen to use a 64bit wineprefix you need to put the imm32.dll into "$WINEPREFIX/drive_c/windows/syswow64" and set the override in winecfg (step 7 above) to "Native then Builtin". If you put it into system32, 64bit applications will not work correctly.
