Additional Comments

Game of the Year + Headhunter DLCs + Upgrade Pack 2 Run as Windows 7 Core i3-3240 @ 3.4ghz conservative setting Gigabyte GT 640 @ 1025mhz 8gb gSkill 1066 / 7 CAS 1366x768 Resolution, most settings low / textures high, running "smooth 22-62 framerate" setting; barely uses the CPU at all. Made some ini tweaks; without dynamic shadows runs around 35-60fps in 95% of places; with dynamic shadows, will drop to 25ish, very rarely hits 20 or below (enormous places like looking down at Liar's Berg will stick right around 20, gets worse the bigger it is). Installed on basic wine1.6 install, already had directx and xaudio fixes from installing other games. Had to copy XAPOFX1_5.dll into /Borderlands 2/Binaries/Win32/ folder to get it to run; cannot launch from steam, have to run the exe from the folder.

HowTo / Notes

How to start the game without the launcher

The borderlands lancher is not working with wine. But to run the game, it is this application that steam starts first. To work around the problem, do the following:

Create a file named steam_appid.txt with the contents "49520" (without quotes).

Put this files into the Steam/steamapps/common/Borderlands 2/Binaries/Win32 folder

Then, every time you runs the game, first runs steam, and only when steam is running, start the game by running Borderlands2.exe (in the Steam/steamapps/common/Borderlands 2/Binaries/Win32 folder)
