Release Steam Version
What does not
Launcher (.NET 4)
Key mapping error occurs under an uncertain circumstance that I havent resolved yet.
What was not tested
end of game (not complete yet)
Working as per instructions for previous wine 1.7.x versions. Required running with WINEARCH=win32 WINPREFIX=~/.winedir wine /path/to/Binaries/Win32/Borderlands2.exe -NoLauncher Worked very well for about 6 hours and several launches. At some point i accidentally hit ctrl+enter and the game went into windowed mode. from this point on after any keyboard input the game would cause a crash. I re validated the content in steam and tried various driver overrides, received reference errors on the controle and managed to see a wine dialog with an error immProcessKey() : file not found, reference errors on every attempt to enter any key press. There doesn't seem to be any clear information on this error after a day of googling.

The borderlands lancher is not working with wine. But to run the game, it is this application that steam starts first. To work around the problem, do the following:
Create a file named steam_appid.txt with the contents "49520" (without quotes).
Put this files into the Steam/steamapps/common/Borderlands 2/Binaries/Win32 folder
Then, every time you runs the game, first runs steam, and only when steam is running, start the game by running Borderlands2.exe (in the Steam/steamapps/common/Borderlands 2/Binaries/Win32 folder)
