The game installs under Steam without issue.
What does not
Upon launch, the game crashes with the Bugsplat report screen.
Right before it crashes, it mentions it was installing DirectX Runtime (1 of 1).
What was not tested
The game is intent on installing some DirectX libraries. When following the installscript (visible in the /Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine folder) it points to DXSETUP.EXE. Manually clicking that file gives no issues - DirextX gets installed/updated without problem. I tried replacing the whole /directx folder with one from another game that works. Didn't work. I tried replacing specific files in the Wine-WH40k Space Marine folder with files from my working Windows 7-WH40K Space Marine directory, but that didn't help either. This guy (booman) has also tried a few trail-and-error things before giving up: http://www.playonlinux.com/en/topic-10378-Warhammer_40K__Space_Marine.html
