This version of activesync is perfect for running windows mobile exe installers, so you can get the cab installer files that can be run on the device itself. Pay attention to where the exe file says it's installing (Program Files/Windows Mobile/ProgramName usually) and then go to that folder and poke around until you find the cab file. Then copy the cab file to your device via memory card or synce or emailing it to yourself and checking your email on your phone and downloading it or whatever method works for you.
