Suggested Winetricks: d3dx11_43 vcrun2008 vcrun2010* xact_jun2010 * Will crash with an error if msxml3 is not installed Sound seems to work out of the box. Else see the comments. Multiplayer was tested in LAN and private matches. Had the problem when I started the game that it did not show it but steam sais I am in the game. Following command helped: $ killall XComGame.exe After that I restarted the game and everything worked.
