What works

Game installs, launcher starts, but game client does not run after start.

Instead, wine just closes the process with an error as described further below.

What does not

Launching the game with logs enabled, shows the following error:

err:module:import_dll Library MSVCP90.DLL (which is needed by L"C:\\....") not found

The libraries are definitely there in the wine 32bit prefix as the very same installation works well with wine version 1.9.15.

HowTo / Notes

32 bit Required
This game requires a 32-bit Wine prefix. To ensure this is so, prefix all commands with "env WINEARCH=win32", or do "export env WINEARCH=win32" once before running any commands.
Possible Map Crash Bug

With some versions of Wine, the game will crash if icons are hovered over on the main map. Avoid this by keeping the mouse out of the way when viewing the map.

This bug occurs for some players, but not all. I (Scott Weldon) have tested with Wine 1.7.50, and the game did not crash when hovering over icons on the map. However, other users have reported that they are still experiencing the bug. Any help in narrowing down the cause is appreciated.

Running SWTOR
Before running the game, launch swtor_fix.exe (found here) in the background.
