Installing VMware Workstation

The VMware Workstation install wizard does not work. It freezes on what appears to be some kind of Internet Explorer problem. Fortunately you can install VMware Workstation with the silent switch:

  1. Create a new prefix
  2. Download and Install VMware-workstation-full-8.0.5-893925.exe
  3. winetricks crypt32
  4. wine VMware-workstation-full-8.0.5-893925.exe /s

Oh sorry I meant the silent install doesn't work on wine version 1.6.2
