the game needs to install a patch from the "publicbeta" branch info for this is here on the pc gaming wiki on the bottom http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Red_Faction:_Armageddon#Game_Crashing_on_.22New_Game.22_.28Steam_version.29 in betas type in publicbeta12345 and click check code and the game should update and the first cut scene shouldn't crash even if you skip it
