What works
Installing, launching and playing the game.
What does not
Game is sporadically crashing during online play.
Game frame rates seem to drop after I respawn.
Game starts minimised.
Frame rate in some menus is a bit slow for some reason.
Gameplay seems a little slow, but I've had some performance related issues with my Ubuntu installation recently so it might be related to that.
Physx doesn't seem happy...
Texture detail keeps resetting to "medium".
The launcher is a pain so I launch the game using HawkenGame-Win32-Shipping.exe when I don't need to update.
You can get the launcher to run most of the time for installing and updating, by clicking the cog button and waiting for a minute while the resulting error message is on screen. Then click ok and a picture will display in the launcher and an error message shows in the top left over the picture. Ironically this is how you can gauge weather the launcher will work properly. If the error message doesn't appear the launcher will quit, if you waited long enough before pressing 'Ok' then the message will appear and the launcher will function.

Additional Comments
I had trouble for ages trying to get this to work. At first I had installed using various dxdlls etc, and the game just wouldn't launch. Then I created a new prefix and moved the game files from the old prefix into the new one, and everything was fine. I'm not sure weather it was updating to the new version of wine in the new prefix that did it or weather it was something else. I've used playonlinux, and added xact from the configuration menu in order to get the sound to work. I also set the "Emulate a virtual desktop" setting on the graphics tab of wine settings, because I had trouble with full screen at first, probably due to my having dual monitors. Full screen seems to be working fine now though for some reason. Alt-tabbing: hold down alt-tab for long enough and the application switcher will eventually appear.
