What works

Installs using wine defaults in clean wine environment. However, the program itself is not usable.

If ie6 installed, and then wine re-installed, the program runs quite well:

WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32ie6 WINEARCH=win32 winetricks ie6
(then follow instructions to download ie 6 and install etc)
WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32ie6 wine
WINEPREFIX=~/.wine32ie6 wine "c:\Program Files\Microsoft Money 2005\MNYCoreFiles\msmoney.exe"

The program has quite a lot of program functionality, but certain operations can cause the program to hang/crash.

With this version of wine (1.9.7) the program exited cleanly without hanging as had has previously been the case.

What does not

During the installation I couldn't read the "I accept" and "Cancel" text in the text boxes. "I accept" is left hand most text box. "Cancel" is right hand text box. Program installed fine when left most text box "I accept" was selected.

Program starts up ok using wine defaults. However, the program "hangs" before you can really access any of its functionality.

When installed and run with ie 6 the program ran quite well. However, certain operations can cause the program to hang/crash. For example:

* Drop down navigation menu hangs application. This is the main "browser" drop down box in the main menu bar. All other dropdown boxes seemed to work ok.

* Using the built-in money help.

Workarounds

What was not tested

"Proper use" was not tested for any extensive period of time.

Possibly it could work better with ie7 or ie8, but I couldn't get these to install using winetricks. Even with a fresh wine prefix messages about a later version of Internet Explorer already installed.
