Creating a new campaign.
Generating the Sol system.
Using SpaceMaster (SM) mode to make changes to in-game circumstances, such as adding ships to the map.
Issuing Civilian shipping contracts.
Computing a build cycle, and updating the database accordingly.
What does not
Nothing that was tested failed to work.
I have found only two flaws, as of yet.
Roughly once per game year, the game crashes to desktop. No data is lost, and the game may be resumed without even restarting Wine.
If you quit out of the program manually, it takes a notable amount of time for a shell to return to a command prompt. Generally, the time needed is upwards of a minute. Forcibly quitting the program, without allowing this time to pass normally, does not appear to corrupt any data.
What was not tested
Forcibly generating a Non-Player Race (NPR).
Starting a campaign with a completely synthetic star system, as opposed to using the Sol system.
Starting a campaign with a completely synthetic race, as opposed to using the default Human race.
To install, use winetricks to install vb6run. Force Wine to register two dlls; ole32.dll and oleaut32.dll. The commands "regsvr32 ole32.dll" and "regsvr32 oleaut32.dll" will suffice. Install a program called the "Simple Shutdown Timer" in this prefix. It can be found here: http://www.pcwintech.com/simple-shutdown-timer Using WINECFG, set overrides for the dlls "ole32.dll" and "oleaut32.dll" to "Native, then Builtin." Install Aurora as per the standard instructions found on the Aurora forum. Run Aurora by running the file "Aurora.exe"
