Use 32bit cleint for 1.77
by Jarrard on Tuesday May 8th 2018, 5:47
I have succesfully tested this with DXVK with the 32bit exe, you can make the launcher start 32bit if you edit the config.blk file and put clientBitType:t="32bit" or just run the exe directly.

Error messages for 64bit client are below. Its not related to DXVK as it does not even launch the 64bit client.

mouse issue
by Diceroll on Monday July 14th 2014, 7:51
The game runs great (60 fps) but i have a weird issue :
the mouse is "stuck" by the screen borders, so i can't move or look 360° wich make the game pretty unplayable.

I tried to force the MouseWarpOverride in registry and to set the "capture mouse" option but i still got the problem.

any idea ?
Login failed can any
by Verloren on Saturday June 7th 2014, 6:29
The game installs fine however whenever I log in I get "connection error 81110013 failed to load player profile", I've tried everything support suggested but that didnt work so I think it must be wine getting in the way of something or I haven't done something thats obvious to everyone else.
Help would be much appreciated.

Ubuntu 14.04LTS
Wine 1.7.19

Make sure that your password and email is correct. This has happened to me before, it wasn't until I put in the correct username and password that the game worked.

Try downgrading to an earlier version of the nvidia drivers. I wasn't able to start War Thunder when using 331.20 but after downgrading to 325.15 it runs fine. On Arch I had to downgrade the following packages:

nvidia nvidia-libgl nvidia-utils lib32-nvidia-libgl lib32-nvidia-utils
RE: use 1.5.3 avalible from PlayonLinux
by Austin on Saturday May 10th 2014, 0:56
using the 1.5.3 version avalible from Play On Linux makes the game run crystal clear with no other libraries needed as Dx9 is preinstalled as well as VCrun2010
War Thunder doesn't start
by Tomik on Wednesday November 20th 2013, 23:19
Hi I installed WT through Playonlinux, but when I click on "Play" button in WT launcher game doesn't start.
In debug mode it shows me this:
pastebin.com/1tYF7NHB

Before this, I tried install it through Steam (also in PlayOnLinux), but after clicking on PLAY button it shows me some message, that I have old drivers for graphic card.

I'm using Nvidia 331.20 drivers from Nvidia.
Enyone knows what should I install with winetricks? Thanks

Launch "winecfg", go to Libraries, find "dnsapi" and set it to "builtin"

by Tomik on Monday December 16th 2013, 16:22
Same problem :(
But now, it doesn't show anything about DNSAPI. But game still doesn't start.

I just tried with playonlinux using wine version 1.7.7 and it just worked. Not sure about the nvidia thing, using ati card here with open source default drivers for it. Try changing wine versions
Crashing after login screen
by Ben on Sunday October 20th 2013, 8:50
I've no idea why, but war thunder is crashing after I log in.

Console output is as follows:

err:d3d:wined3d_debug_callback 0x444b9c8: "GL_INVALID_ENUM error generated.".
err:d3d_surface:surface_allocate_surface >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_ENUM (0x500) from glTexImage2D @ ../../../wine/dlls/wined3d/surface.c / 2739
err:d3d:wined3d_debug_callback 0x444b9c8: "GL_INVALID_VALUE error generated. Invalid texture format.".
err:d3d_surface:surface_upload_data >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_VALUE (0x501) from glTexSubImage2D @ ../../../wine/dlls/wined3d/surface.c / 2376

From what I can tell from googling the issue, I need the libtxc_dxtn libraries installed, but I've already installed them.

Video driver is NVIDIA 325.15

by Milan Troller on Sunday December 15th 2013, 13:51
I am not sure if that's the case but I have a similar hangup but the game runs if I launch it in the "compatibility mode". It looks awful tho and I am trying to figure out how to go without it.
Winetricks
by RevenantX on Sunday September 29th 2013, 16:37
winetricks crypt32 d3dx10 d3dx11_43 d3dx9_26 d3dx9_28 d3dx9_31 d3dx9_35 d3dx9_36 d3dx9_39 d3dx9_42 d3dx9_43 d3dx9 d3dxof devenum dinput directmusic directplay directx9 dmsynth dsound ie8 msasn1 msls31 msxml3 physx quartz sdl vcrun2008 winhttp wininet

Are you know that winetricks directx9 installs:
d3dx9_26 d3dx9_28 d3dx9_31 d3dx9_35 d3dx9_36 d3dx9_39 d3dx9_42 d3dx9_43 d3dx9 d3dxof devenum dinput directmusic directplay

And winetricks d3dx9 installs:
d3dx9_26 d3dx9_28 d3dx9_31 d3dx9_35 d3dx9_36 d3dx9_39 d3dx9_42 d3dx9_43

And warthunder works flawessly without winetricks (except sky bug)
