What works

All of the functionality I've tested so far has worked (the application has a ton of features, so it's very hard to say what percentage I've tested).

If it seems like you've hung the program, and all that will work is the maximize/unmaximize button, move the main window and make sure you haven't got a modal dialog stuck under the main window.  The app won't let you do anything until these are closed, but they don't seem to exhibit an "always on top" behavior.

If you drag the program around in windowed mode, it is possible to end up with the tool boxes in odd or unreachable places.  To work around this, use the Options|Windows|Arrange_Windows menu option.

What does not

  • On my multiple 64-bit Ubuntu 13.04 installs, Wine does not seem to properly display the web page that list the caveats/limitations for the demo version after install.  This works properly on 32-bit Mint 14, with the same Wine version installed (1.5.20, but same results with 1.5.21).  Both systems have Chrome installed and set to be the default browser, but the Ubuntu system brings up the Windows Explorer instead of Internet Explorer for some reason.  This was tested with brand-new WINEPREFIX's on each system.
  • On 64-bit Ubuntu 13.04 using the latest nVidia drivers (nvidia-experimental 310.14), the entire Unity desktop will seem to hang if you bring up the 'Help|About' dialog from the menu.  This was not a problem when I tested on a 64-bit VM running Ubuntu 10.04 (Gnome2 desktop), nor was it an issue when I tested on a 32-bit Mint 14 CR-48 (ex-Chromebook) running the Cinnamon desktop.  If you manage to hang the desktop in this manner, you can Ctrl-Alt-F2 to a terminal, killall pmotion.exe, and Alt-F7 back to your desktop.

Workarounds

What was not tested

I'm sure there are lots of functions that I still have not tested yet, as the feature list is very large.  I will update as discover issues.

Additional Comments

While I did run into the issues mentioned above, I'm not entirely sure they're Wine problems and not distro-specific, so I feel the app should still be rated as platinum for now.
