What works

Everything works, especially:

  • Editing of anything.
  • XMI import/export.
  • Binary import (imported whole Java rt.jar (takes hours!)).
  • Java code generation, manual and automatic/live.
  • Cross-working between wine and linux file-paths (load,save,referencing).
  • Running and working with EA for a whole day is no problem.
  • ! Follow EA-Link for Wine-Installation, otherwise you'll face problems about missing prerequisites.
  • Never faced a late crash if launching worked (see below).
  • Runs fine at the same time as 3 Eclipse J2EE, graphic tools and other stuff. Parallel code-work in EA/Eclipse is fine too.

What does not

Launching directly via desktop link does sometimes (1 out of 20 attempts) not work, the app crashes immediately. If so, simply close error window and retry. Launching from QT-Wine works always. If launched successfully, it runs forever.

Hint: Crossworks did not work (startup crash most of the time).

What was not tested

  • DBMS technologies.
  • Other languages than Java.
