Additional Comments
The game itself runs, and the graphics/sounds are flawless. However, even when installing from DVD, the game requires Origin, which does not install without workarounds (see https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=26175). Even if one can get Origin to work, it is highly unstable (at least on my system) and crashes rather frequently, which causes the game to stop and loose any progress. Restarting origin does not solve this issue, since after switching from the game to another application or the desktop, the game stops responding and needs to be restarted. Note that Dead Space 3 has no option to manually save game progress, instead, the progress is automatically saved at checkpoints every 5 to 15 minutes, i.e. all unsaved parts of the game have to be re-played after Origin crashes.

I've tried wine 4.1 protonified and I had the death loop checkpoint bug (which was annoying but workable), then when I got to chapter 13, the hive mind completely disappears mid-fight. I've tried this with and without vsync and it happens every single time. I installed wine 2.0 staging like someone mentioned below and the same thing happened every single time with and without vsync.
At this point I don't even care about beating the boss. I just want to move on to the second half of the game, but I'm stuck. Has anyone had any success with this? Maybe there's a way to edit the save to just put me past it?

After shooting this thing in its exposed heart (yellow thing) it's supposed to fall a bit and start sucking air inside it. On wine, the bug appears to just fall off the cliff-side entirely and there is no way to finish the fight.
I tried the same save file on my Win7 install and the fight worked as it should have.
This YT video shows what boss fight I'm talking about:

Note that the game has to be cracked, or it crashes during the title screen. It never used to do this AFAICT, but I suspect the application was updated via Origin at some point to cause this regression.
It's also worth noting that changes to deadspace3.exe cause changes to the save game format, such that they are no longer compatible. ie. a crack that replaces deadspace3.exe will not create/load save games which were created with the original deadspace3.exe, or even deadspace3.exe modified by a different crack! I was ~40% of the way through the game (played it ages ago), but had to start over from scratch (in a different save game slot) to use a crack just to get it running.
Additionally, there were some parts of the game where automatic loading of a check point upon death did not work - I would get a light blue screen and then I was automatically dead again before I could even see anything. This would loop indefinitely, so I would have to exit out of the game to the menu and manually load a save. As the save points are different to the check points (and unfortunately far less frequent), this worked. Just try not to die too often because there's way too much back tracking required due to this issue. No idea if it's a DS3 issue, an issue with the crack I was using, or a problem with Wine... but it was annoying as heck.

Because for me the origin application works(somewhat), it's just when I try to download games/demos from the store, the download speed is unbearably slow, but if I can download the Dead Space 3 files from somewhere else and put it in the origin download, and if I can get the game to start through origin, would I be able to play online like that?
