Cities CL Platinum is an expansion to Cities XL 2012.
"Cities XL Platinum offers a huge variety of over 1,000 buildings and constructions (including 50 brand new structures), that you can freely place on more than 60 gigantic maps, offering varied terrain and an incredible level of detail." (http://www2.citiesxl.com/index.php?rub=citiesxl2012)
Game installation, Game startup. All game play features tested so far.
What does not
Everything I tested so far works. Creating a city, putting down roads, industrial areas, commercial areas, houses, etc. Growing city.
What was not tested
Higher level industries, houses, commercial buildings, etc. This can be a time consuming process, it takes a while to build up to big cities. So far everything works fine, but I did not grow my city into a huge city. It is possible that there will be performance or stability problems if you grow huge cities. YMMV.
WARNING! I could NOT get this game to work with wine 1.5.23. Nine times out of ten it would not start, and the few times it did start it would not run for more than a minute. If I had to rate this with Wine 1.5.23, it would get a GARBAGE rating. This is the error that wine 1.5.23 gives: fixme:d3d:wined3d_buffer_preload Too many declaration changes or converting dynamic buffer, stopping converting With Wine 1.4.1 does not have this problem, and it seems to work fine out of the box with no tweaking at all. Performance is MUCH BETTER than with Cities XL 2012. I'm not sure what they changed, but Cities XL 2012 was very slow, annoyingly slow to the point of being painful to play. Cities XL Platinum performs *much* better.
