What does not

some minor glitch:

-antialiasing is bugged:when u start with antialisiang on , you can see some extra shadow wich is not supposed to be there , but the same happen if you start the game with antialiasing off,

point is that if you switch from off to on & vice-versa in the game , the shadowing fall back to normal ( not a real issue )

- if u run the game in a laptop without the " emulate a virtual desktop 800x600" citis xl complaining about a leak of 800x600 resolution mode (is the default resolution right after installing) and crash back to desktop

with the option enabled : game starts with no problems at all and u can change the resolution "on the fly " in the game menu

the game it self got a problem ( present in windows too ) related to a major memory leak that makes game slows , after 30min (more or less) , there's a partial working WA editing the "globalsettings.cfg" located in the /data/ folder " 1 0 20 800 10000 5000 1000 " this is the right conf ....to avoid the bug

Memory leak workaround

2015-04-20 Admin note: the following was extracted from a user comment made in 2014 and may not be relevant to current Wine.

Please modify the graphics configuration file in order to improve the game performance:

1. Open the folder Cities XL Platinum located on the hard disk.
2. The default path is the Local Disk (C:), Program Files or Program Files (x86), Steam, SteamApps then Common.
3. Open the folder Data then the folder Config.
4. Right click the file GlobalSettings.cfg and click Edit or open the file using the Notepad.
5. Go to the line Live and set PoolSize to 4096

6. Go to the line Layout and set ProcessEnabled to 0

7. Go to the line Visibility Manager and set VisibilityEnabled to 1

8. Save the file GlobalSettings.cfg and run the game.

As soon as you experience major slowdowns with your city, please save your city then quit the game (go back to the main menu) and reload your city.
