What works
Opening, editing/creating and saving powertab files. Playback works to an extent. I'll explain that in "what does not work"
What does not
Some things use the wrong fonts. Instead of using a generic font like the program should, it uses the powertab font which is only music symbols. This makes some aspects of the program hard to manage. I'm not sure if this is a wine problem or powertab's problem since the installer uses the same text when I tried removing the program.
Another thing that is not working entirely is sound playback. Sound can be played back, but once the file finishes playback, the program gets stuck. At this point, the only thing you can do is save the file by manually closing it from the task bar.
Choosing "reload last file on startup" under General Options makes this bug less irritating. This bug can also be avoided by pressing the stop button before playback finishes.
Workarounds
What was not tested
Minor program features. I haven't done complete testing on editing scores so some things may not work correctly but as far as I'm concerned everything works (to an extent).

Install Times New Roman, Arial, and the Power Tab font (available at www.power-tab.net) into the /windows/fonts directory before trying to install PTE.
If you don't, you'll only see some notes and staves for menus.
Also, make sure you have the following DLL files in your /windows/system directory, as PTE needs them in order to function properly. They are:
- version.dll
- mfc42.dll
- msvcrt.dll
- kernel32.dll
- user32.dll
- gdi32.dll
- advapi32.dll
- shell32.dll
- comctl32.dll
- msvcirt.dll
- winmm.dll
You can get most of these from http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/index.shtml
To sum up: install wine, install system fonts, install DLL files, and, lastly, install PTE.
