Running the installer through macports wine doesn't work, it crashes. Running installer using wine of the same version on "playonmac" installs and runs but Licence has to be installed by running "$ wine License.exe" on BIN subfolder Running ISIS with gridlines hogs the CPU excessively for unknown reasons

Error : Proteus 8 Access violation in module 'VGDVC.DLL'
Workaround :
go to winetricks, if you don't have it, you can install it :
sudo aptitude install winetricks
or
sudo apt-get install winetricks
then open the GUI, either from the menu or a console :
winetricks --gui
then check, "Select the default wineprefix" and press OK.
then check, "Run regedit" and press OK again.
Now go to :
-> HKEY_CURRENT_USER
-> Software
-> Labcenter Electronics
-> Proteus 8 Professional
You should have the key "Default Graphics Mode" set to some particular integer like 3 or 2.
Change that to 1 by clicking on it twice and entering the number 1.
And you're done, this fix have been proven to work for Proteus 8x under Wine 1.8.7 under Debian Stretch. And should also work for other versions.
That was bloody easy wasn't it.
