The last official patch is 1.11 but since the game is now unsupported, there have been several community patches released for the game to fix various issues. One of the more popular ones is the 1.30 patch entitled "Last Hope".

Installing from the CD was not tested but I'm confident it would work as well with the patches to upgrade it to at least 1.11 from tribesone.com. By default the game will try to render everything in software. It looks a lot better if this is changed to OpenGL and the resolution is increased.
